Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs place the September 10 high in central NYC near 84–86 °F under southwest flow ahead of a weak front, with 40–50 % afternoon shower chances that introduce timing uncertainty for peak readings. Traders have clustered bets around the 82–87 °F bins because slight shifts in cloud cover, precipitation onset, or boundary-layer mixing can easily move the daily maximum by a couple of degrees. Historical climatology shows a late-summer average high near 78 °F, so current warmth reflects anomalous ridging, yet marine influence and urban heat-island effects remain secondary modulators. Updated short-range model runs and afternoon observations over the next 48 hours will likely tighten the distribution before market resolution.
