Persistent heat and southerly flow across North Texas are keeping overnight lows elevated ahead of September 10, with National Weather Service forecasts and model guidance showing Dallas lows in the upper 70s under mostly clear skies and light south winds. This pattern, reinforced by a strong subtropical ridge and dew points near 70°F, makes a reading of 71°F or below unlikely while also capping the chance of an unusually warm minimum near or above 90°F. Historical September climatology places the average low near 72°F, but the current anomalous warmth shifts the distribution upward. Traders appear to weigh residual model spread and any late-day frontal timing against this consensus, leaving the 71°F-or-below and 90°F-or-higher outcomes nearly even. Updated NWS guidance and evening model runs on September 9 will provide the next key data point before resolution.
