Official forecasts from the Japan Meteorological Agency indicate a maximum of 23°C in Tokyo on September 17 amid morning rain transitioning to cloudy skies, with precipitation probabilities falling from 70% early to 20% by afternoon. Persistent cloud cover, northerly winds, and a stationary front suppress daytime heating, aligning with private model runs showing afternoon peaks near 24–25°C. These conditions deviate below late-summer normals of 26–27°C, concentrating trader-implied odds on 23–25°C outcomes. Updated model consensus and any late-day clearing could shift probabilities, while historical September variability underscores the narrow temperature window.
