The August 11 Democratic primary for Minnesota’s open U.S. Senate seat remains unsettled in Dakota County, where suburban voters in the 2nd Congressional District weigh Rep. Angie Craig’s local incumbency and fundraising against Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan’s endorsements from retiring Sen. Tina Smith, the state DFL, and progressive groups. Recent SurveyUSA polling shows the two frontrunners separated by only a few points statewide, with four lesser-known candidates still on the ballot and outside spending exceeding $10 million. This fragmented field, combined with limited county-specific data and the primary’s proximity, sustains broad uncertainty reflected in trader pricing near even odds across multiple contenders. A strong performance in suburban precincts or last-minute endorsements could shift momentum before votes are cast.

The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking.
If the Dakota County results of this election are not definitively known by December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to "Other."
This market will resolve based on a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the government of Minnesota including the Minnesota Secretary of State and the government of Dakota County.
