Silver trades near $57.60 per ounce following a sharp pullback from January 2026 highs above $120, with recent sessions showing 2% daily swings amid mixed industrial and investment flows. Persistent structural deficits—driven by solar, EV, and electronics demand exceeding mine supply—provide a floor, while the metal’s correlation to gold and broader risk sentiment amplifies volatility. Market-implied odds for the week of August 3 reflect a closely contested range around current levels, with traders pricing in limited near-term catalysts beyond ongoing monetary policy signals and any fresh economic data releases. Historical precedent shows silver often exhibits amplified moves in early August, underscoring the potential for quick shifts if industrial orders or dollar strength surprise.
