Young French talent Thomas Faurel faces experienced Brit Jay Clarke in the second round of Roland Garros qualifying on clay. Faurel, ranked around 382 and coming off a straight-sets win over Genaro Alberto Olivieri in the opening round, benefits from home-soil comfort and recent momentum on the surface. Clarke, ranked near 200 and holding a career-high near 153, brings greater overall experience yet enters after mixed recent results, including a first-round victory over Dane Sweeny. With no prior head-to-head meetings, the matchup hinges on Faurel’s clay-court adaptation and physical freshness against Clarke’s tactical edge and serve consistency in a best-of-three encounter.
