Persistent rain and a shift from southeast to northerly winds are anchoring NYC's overnight low near 62–65°F on September 20, aligning with the market's heaviest volume on those bins. Cloud cover and elevated humidity from the coastal system suppress radiational cooling, while the approaching frontal boundary prevents warmer air advection that might push lows into the upper 60s. Official guidance from NOAA and regional models shows strong consensus around these values, consistent with mid-September climatology for the metro area where average lows hover near 60°F. With the day nearly complete and fresh model runs unlikely to alter the outcome substantially, trader positioning reflects high confidence in this narrow temperature window.
