Florian Wirtz enters his first FIFA World Cup as a central attacking midfielder for Germany, pairing with Jamal Musiala in Julian Nagelsmann’s creative setup. Recent international form has been strong, highlighted by two goals and two assists in a March friendly win over Switzerland and another goal in a 4-0 warm-up victory against Finland. After adapting to Liverpool following his 2025 transfer, Wirtz has shown improved output and fitness heading into Group E fixtures against Curaçao, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ecuador. As a versatile playmaker averaging roughly one goal every four caps, his shot volume and chance creation position him for contributions, though deeper tournament runs and defensive matchups will shape total tallies.
