Miami's overnight low on August 16 settled in the 82–83 °F range, a result traders priced at essentially 100 % once official observations confirmed the forecast. Persistent late-summer humidity, light southeasterly flow off the Atlantic, and minimal nocturnal cooling under partly cloudy skies kept temperatures elevated, consistent with National Weather Service climatology that places Miami’s August average low near 78 °F with frequent readings in the low 80s. Model consensus from the NWS and AccuWeather had converged on this narrow band days earlier, leaving little room for deviation. Only an unexpected clear-sky radiative cooling event or a sharp wind shift could have pushed readings into the 80–81 °F bin or lower.
