This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 8 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=sbgr If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader consensus centers on a maximum of 20°C in São Paulo on September 8, 2026 (39% implied probability), with nearby outcomes at 19°C and 21°C also heavily favored.** This reflects model consensus and early observations pointing to modest daytime warming under persistent cloud cover and light precipitation after a sharp cold snap. A polar air mass and high-pressure system following a cold front have kept temperatures well below seasonal norms. Recent days saw maxima near 12–14°C, with widespread garoa (drizzle), overcast skies, and easterly winds limiting solar heating. Forecasts from sources including INMET-influenced outlooks, Yr.no, and Met Office models show afternoon peaks reaching approximately 20°C (68°F) amid 70–100% cloud cover and light rain chances, before cooling again overnight. Key variables include the exact timing of any partial clearing (which could allow brief warming toward 21–22°C) versus sustained low cloud and moisture (favoring 19°C or lower). Historical September averages exceed 24–27°C, so the current setup represents a notable anomaly driven by the recent frontal passage. Market pricing aligns closely with this evidence-based range while incorporating uncertainty from evolving model runs and official station data (e.g., Mirante de Santana).
