KMT nominee Chang Chia-chun holds a leading position in the Yunlin County magistrate race ahead of the November 28, 2026, local elections, reflecting trader assessments of her family's entrenched local networks and the party's organizational strength in the county. DPP legislator Liu Chien-kuo serves as the primary challenger following his nomination earlier this year, with the contest shaped by Yunlin's history of competitive outcomes between the two major parties. Recent in-house surveys indicate a lead for Chang alongside substantial undecided voters, while KMT efforts to unify candidates in mid-2026 have reinforced positioning. The market remains sensitive to shifts in polling margins, turnout patterns among rural and agricultural communities, and any late national political developments that could influence local preferences before election day.
