Polymarket traders price a 57.5% implied probability for Eurozone annual HICP inflation exceeding 3.1% in 2026, reflecting the sharp surge to 3.0% YoY in April—up from 2.6% in March—driven by energy prices leaping to 10.9% amid Iran war disruptions to oil and LNG supplies. This momentum exceeds the ECB Survey of Professional Forecasters' median projection of 2.7% for 2026 (Q2 release May 4), with core inflation steady at 2.2%, highlighting headline volatility as the key swing factor. The 27% odds on sub-1.0% capture bets on geopolitical de-escalation enabling disinflation, while 22.7% for 2.8-3.0% aligns with revised analyst consensus. Watch May flash HICP (late May) and ECB June meeting for policy signals amid fading rate-cut hopes.
