Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other sources indicate a high near 80–85°F for downtown Los Angeles on September 5 under sunny conditions with light southerly flow, while coastal sites trend cooler. Trader consensus on 78–81°F reflects the moderating influence of the marine layer and onshore sea breeze typical for early September, which limits inland heating despite clear skies. Historical averages near 77°F and recent days in the mid-70s to low-80s reinforce this range, with limited upside from stronger subsidence or offshore flow unlikely before the weekend. Minor model spread around peak timing and exact marine intrusion keeps 82°F+ probabilities low.
