Trader consensus around 86–89°F for Miami’s September 20 high reflects official National Weather Service guidance of upper-80s readings amid scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Light variable winds, deep tropical moisture, and an upper-level low over the eastern Gulf are promoting widespread convection that typically caps daytime maxima before they reach 90°F. Model guidance shows modest spread in storm timing and coverage, creating the narrow 40–38% split between the 88–89°F and 86–87°F bins while keeping higher or lower outcomes at single-digit implied probabilities. Historical September climatology supports this range, with frequent sea-breeze-driven storms preventing sustained heat. Updated NWS and NOAA model runs through the weekend will provide the next key data points for resolution.
