Official National Weather Service forecasts for September 21, 2026, emphasize persistent onshore southwest flow and marine layer influence across the Los Angeles basin, supporting highs mainly in the mid-70s with some areas reaching the upper 70s to near 80°F under mostly cloudy skies. This setup, typical for late September, limits daytime heating through cloud cover and cooler Pacific air advection, aligning with the market's strong preference for 76-77°F. Recent model consensus from NWS and private sources shows minimal warming trend ahead of the date, with historical averages near 76°F providing additional context for trader positioning. Updated observations on the 20th confirm similar conditions holding, reducing upside risk for higher bins.
