Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models show San Francisco highs on September 17 most likely reaching 69–72°F as morning marine layer clouds gradually clear under light southwest flow. Onshore winds and residual stratus have kept recent days cooler, near or below seasonal normals around 70°F, but afternoon clearing supports modest warming. The tight spread between 70–71°F and 72–73°F outcomes reflects minor differences in model timing for full sun exposure and sustained wind speeds, with traders weighting the latest NWS point forecast near 70°F. Historical mid-September averages near 71°F provide additional context for the clustered probabilities, while any lingering drizzle or stronger marine push could cap the daily maximum lower.
