Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for coastal Southern California shows persistent marine layer influence and onshore southwest flow moderating temperatures, positioning the highest reading in Los Angeles on September 18 near 76–77°F as the leading outcome. This aligns with current forecasts of mid-70s to low-80s under partly cloudy skies transitioning to sunny conditions, consistent with near-normal September climatology around 76°F at Los Angeles International Airport. Recent days featured highs in the mid- to upper-70s amid low pressure remnants, with no strong offshore wind event or ridging to drive significant warming. Updated model runs through the weekend will refine exact maxima, particularly regarding marine layer depth and any afternoon clearing that could allow brief spikes into the upper 70s.
