Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a daily high in Dallas on September 18 near 97–100°F, driven by persistent southerly flow, mostly clear skies, and dew points supporting heat indices above 105°F. This aligns with the market’s strong weighting toward 98–99°F and 96–97°F outcomes, reflecting limited model spread and no significant frontal passage or cloud cover expected to suppress temperatures. The pattern matches a broader late-summer warm anomaly, with September 2026 averages already running several degrees above the long-term 93°F high. Traders are monitoring the final 24-hour forecast updates for any last adjustments in steering or boundary-layer moisture that could shift the peak by 1–2°F before resolution.
