Recent polling for the September 20 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election shows the AfD holding a consistent lead near 36 percent, with the SPD trailing at around 29 percent and gaining modestly in the latest surveys from Infratest dimap and INSA. This positioning underpins trader consensus on the SPD as the clear favorite for second place, reflecting the party’s long incumbency under Minister President Manuela Schwesig and limited volatility in voter intentions. Lower probabilities assigned to the CDU, Linke, and smaller parties align with their single-digit to low-double-digit shares and weaker trends. No major campaign events or candidate shifts in the past month have altered these standings, leaving the two-party gap and seat projections as the dominant drivers of current market pricing.
