Incumbent Letitia James maintains a strong position as the Democratic nominee for New York attorney general, with traders assigning her an 80.5% implied probability of winning the November 3, 2026, general election. Her status as a two-term officeholder, combined with New York’s partisan lean and recent Siena polling showing her at 54% against Republican Saritha Komatireddy’s 36%, underpins the consensus. Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor and Trump-endorsed challenger, sits at 13.5%, reflecting structural headwinds in a state where Democrats have held the office for decades. James’s October 2025 federal indictment on bank fraud charges introduced some uncertainty, yet primary results and ongoing official actions have not shifted the race into competitive territory. The November timeline leaves limited room for late developments to alter the current trader assessment of the outcome.
