Silver prices have rebounded sharply in recent weeks to around $65.50–$66 per ounce as of mid-August 2026, supported by robust industrial demand that accounts for roughly 60% of consumption from solar, electronics, and EVs. This follows a volatile year that saw an all-time high near $121 in January before a pullback driven by the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold rates at 3.5–3.75% and signal fewer 2026 cuts amid persistent inflation pressures. A firmer U.S. dollar and Treasury yields have capped upside, while trader positioning reflects uncertainty over whether industrial tailwinds or monetary headwinds will dominate August price action. Key upcoming catalysts include the next FOMC communications and industrial metals demand data.
