**Strong ongoing demand for the limited 70mm IMAX screenings of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (released July 17, 2026) is the main driver behind the 60.5% market-implied probability that the run will be extended again beyond its current September 16 end date.** The film was shot entirely on IMAX film cameras and plays in the premium 1.43:1 expanded aspect ratio on just 25 U.S. screens capable of handling 70mm prints. Initial screenings sold out weeks in advance, prompting Universal and IMAX to extend the engagement once already—from an original mid-August close to mid-September—after advance ticket sales and theater reports showed sustained sell-outs. This limited-supply, high-demand dynamic mirrors the pattern seen with Nolan’s prior large-format releases, where exhibitors added dates when momentum remained elevated. As of mid-August 2026, the run continues to draw strong interest, supported by the film’s reported box-office performance and the scarcity of true 70mm IMAX experiences. Traders are pricing in the likelihood of a further extension if sell-through rates stay high in the remaining weeks, while acknowledging that any softening in attendance or theater programming decisions could keep the run from stretching longer. Key near-term catalysts include weekly ticket sales data and any new announcements from IMAX or Universal regarding additional dates.
