Recent polls ahead of Berlin’s September 20 state election show Die Linke and the CDU locked in a tight contest for the most votes, with both parties hovering near 19–20 percent amid broader fragmentation that also places the AfD and Greens in a narrow band. The Linke has gained ground by centering its campaign on housing affordability and rent controls, while the CDU stabilized after replacing lead candidate Kai Wegner with Stefan Evers in July. Low satisfaction with the incumbent CDU-SPD coalition and shifting voter priorities on local issues have kept the race volatile, producing the narrow trader consensus reflected in current pricing. Late campaign developments on cost-of-living concerns or turnout among key demographics could still alter the final margin.
