**Iran’s next presidential election remains scheduled for 2028 under the constitution following President Masoud Pezeshkian’s 2024 victory.** The Supreme Leader’s death in February 2026 and the subsequent election of Mojtaba Khamenei by the Assembly of Experts in March created a leadership transition but did not alter presidential term limits or prompt early voting. Iranian law ties presidential elections to the fixed four-year cycle unless the president dies, resigns, or is removed, none of which apply to the incumbent. No official announcements, Guardian Council actions, or legislative moves have signaled a snap contest before 2027. Prediction markets price the probability of an election by early 2027 at low single digits to low teens, reflecting trader consensus that the current administration will serve its term absent unforeseen crises. Scheduled events such as potential local council votes or policy deadlines offer no direct link to presidential timing.
