Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a daily minimum temperature in San Francisco on September 18 likely near 57–59°F, driven by moderate onshore flow, a shallow marine layer, and gradual clearing after overnight stratus. This aligns with historical September averages around 56°F while reflecting a warming trend from recent below-normal conditions. Key variables differentiating market-implied odds—such as elevated probabilities near 58–59°F alongside notable support for 51°F or below and 70°F or higher—include uncertainties in marine layer depth, wind speeds that could enhance or limit radiational cooling, and any lingering drizzle effects on temperature. Traders appear to weigh these against typical coastal moderation, with resolution hinging on official observations from downtown or airport stations.
