SpaceX's completed June 2026 IPO at a $1.77 trillion valuation, which surged above $2 trillion post-listing, anchors trader consensus at 57.5% for the higher IPO market cap. Its Starlink revenue base, Starship progress, and integration of AI infrastructure through the xAI merger supported the record $75 billion raise and positioned the company ahead of pure-play AI peers. OpenAI, last valued privately near $852 billion after its March round, confidentially filed in June but has delayed its debut into 2027 amid AI safety priorities, infrastructure spending demands, and caution from SpaceX volatility, with fresh talks exploring $1.2–1.5 trillion private rounds instead. Key near-term catalysts include OpenAI's potential additional funding close and any updates on listing criteria that could narrow the gap.
