**Recent marine layer strengthening and southwest flow have positioned near-normal coastal temperatures as the market favorite for Los Angeles on September 2, 2026.** Official National Weather Service guidance for the Los Angeles County coastal zone forecasts highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s under mostly sunny conditions after morning clouds, with southwest winds around 15 mph. This aligns with the post-heat-wave cooling trend, as a trough has replaced tropical moisture with drier southwest flow, allowing the marine layer to moderate afternoon readings. September 2 climatology shows an average high of roughly 76.7°F at long-term stations such as Los Angeles International Airport, providing a clear baseline. The market’s heavy weighting toward 76-77°F (47% implied probability), followed by 74-75°F and 78-79°F (23% each), reflects trader consensus around this range rather than hotter inland peaks sometimes reported in broader outlooks. No significant warming signals or model shifts have emerged in the latest 48-hour data releases, keeping probabilities tightly clustered near historical norms while acknowledging the modest uncertainty inherent in boundary-layer mixing and exact marine-layer depth.
