Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston shows persistent high humidity and a 70% chance of showers or thunderstorms on September 2, with steering patterns favoring overnight lows in the mid-70s rather than the historical average near 75°F. Thunderstorm outflow and increased cloud cover can suppress the daily minimum by limiting radiational cooling, while southwesterly flow maintains dew points in the mid-70s. Current forecasts cluster around 76–81°F, yet trader consensus at 72.5% for 74–75°F reflects expectations that localized heavy rain or stronger mixing will produce a slightly cooler reading. Upcoming afternoon model runs and evening observations will clarify whether the minimum dips below 76°F or remains elevated by residual heat and moisture.
