Recent polling across multiple institutes shows the AfD maintaining a steady lead at around 36 percent ahead of the September 20, 2026 Landtag election, while the SPD holds second place at approximately 29 percent, well ahead of the Linke, CDU, and smaller parties. This consistent gap has reinforced trader consensus on SPD finishing second, with limited movement in surveys over recent months despite minor SPD gains. The CDU and other established parties trail further back, and newer or fringe options show negligible support. No major campaign events or shifts in voter coalitions have altered these relative standings in the past several weeks, keeping the implied probabilities aligned with current survey trends.
