This external event contrasts with prior 2026 incidents, such as the May thermal overload and power loss in US-EAST-1 or the March infrastructure failure, which stemmed from internal cooling and hardware problems. Traders weigh the likelihood of geopolitical factors resolving the current outage against AWS recovery timelines, supply-chain resilience, and potential follow-on regulatory scrutiny of cloud providers in conflict zones.
