This market will resolve to "Yes" if the sitting Malaysian House of Representatives (Dewan Rakyat) is dissolved by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market is official information from the government of Malaysia, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.**The unity government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim maintains a working majority of roughly 145 seats in the 220-member Dewan Rakyat and has publicly committed to completing the full parliamentary term.** Coalition partners, including elements of Barisan Nasional, have reaffirmed support through 2027 despite periodic state-level tensions and isolated calls from opposition-leaning UMNO voices for an early dissolution following recent events such as a conditional pardon and ministerial statements. Parliament first convened on 19 December 2022, triggering automatic dissolution on 19 December 2027 and a general election no later than 17 February 2028 unless the Yang di-Pertuan Agong acts earlier on the Prime Minister’s advice. Recent state assembly dissolutions (Johor, Negeri Sembilan, and the imminent Melaka poll) have fueled speculation about possible alignment with a federal vote in late 2026 or 2027, yet ruling coalition figures continue to stress stability, economic priorities, and the absence of any immediate no-confidence or supply crisis. The Election Commission remains ready for any scenario, but current trader positioning reflects the coalition’s repeated pledges against a snap poll.
