Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja met in a UFC flyweight title rematch at UFC 331 on September 19, with Van retaining via unanimous decision after a competitive five-round striking-heavy bout. The market centers on announcer and color commentator mentions during the Paramount+ broadcast, driven primarily by the narrative around their first fight at UFC 323, which ended in 26 seconds when Pantoja dislocated his elbow on a takedown attempt. Traders priced terms around the "injury" or "fluke" debate, stylistic contrasts between Van’s speed and boxing versus Pantoja’s grappling and veteran savvy, the 12-year age gap, and redemption themes. Pre-fight press conference trash talk and Van’s prior title defense against Tatsuro Taira reinforced these talking points for the live commentary.
