Avengers: Doomsday holds a commanding lead for the biggest 2026 opening weekend, driven by its position as the next major MCU event featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and the franchise’s consistent ability to deliver record-breaking box office debuts. Trader sentiment reflects strong industry anticipation around its scale and crossover appeal, which dwarfs the more contained momentum behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day and leaves animated titles like Toy Story 5 and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at a clear disadvantage against live-action spectacles. Dune: Messiah and Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu show modest support tied to their established universes, yet recent casting updates and release timing continue to reinforce Avengers as the frontrunner heading into summer tracking.
