Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s record $360 million domestic opening has reset expectations for 2026 tentpoles, yet the market for second place remains tightly contested because multiple unreleased or recently launched titles carry comparable upside. Avengers: Doomsday’s early presales exceeding $50 million and holiday positioning point to a potential $260–300 million debut that could slot directly behind Brand New Day, while Toy Story 5’s already-bank $160 million start anchors the current benchmark. The broad cluster of outcomes near 50% implied probability captures uncertainty over how December releases will perform against historical superhero and animated precedents, with final chart positions and late-year tracking reports serving as the decisive swing factors before year-end resolution.
