Multiple players from diverse national teams cluster tightly near the top of implied probabilities for most goal contributions at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, underscoring the absence of any standout favorite. Forwards such as Youssef En-Nesyri and Cody Gakpo sit alongside creative midfielders like Federico Valverde and Christoph Baumgartner because their squads feature balanced attacking systems, strong recent qualifying results, and versatile roles that generate both goals and assists. This competitive dynamic persists due to fluid roster decisions, varying group-stage schedules, and the potential for late surges in form, keeping the race open among several realistic contenders until the tournament advances.
