Current forecasts from multiple models indicate a high around 64-65°F for New York City on September 22, driven by persistent northeasterly flow, extensive cloud cover, and scattered showers that limit daytime heating. This setup follows a frontal passage, with surface high pressure building in from the north suppressing warmer southerly air. Key variables include exact precipitation timing and intensity, which could shave several degrees off the maximum if heavier rain arrives midday, versus partial clearing that might allow readings to reach the upper 60s. Historical September averages near 74°F underscore the below-normal trajectory. Trader consensus around the 66-67°F bin alongside substantial probability mass in the low-to-mid 60s reflects ongoing model uncertainty ahead of updated runs from the National Weather Service.
