Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 22 points to sunny skies under persistent mid-level ridging, with light northerly winds and minimal cloud cover supporting daytime highs in the upper 90s. Official point forecasts cluster between 95–98 °F, aligning with the market’s near-even split between the 94–95 °F and 96–97 °F bins as traders weigh small differences in afternoon mixing and boundary-layer moisture. Above-normal September warmth, driven by the stalled pattern that produced similar readings the prior several days, keeps lower or higher outliers at minimal implied probability while heat-index values are projected to exceed 105 °F. Updated model runs and any late-day seabreeze or convective developments remain the key variables that could shift final observed maximums within the narrow leading range.
