National Weather Service forecasts for Houston on September 21, 2026, project an overnight low of 79°F under mostly clear skies, light variable winds, and high humidity that limits radiative cooling. This aligns with the market's 91.5% implied probability for the 78-79°F range and recent climatological data showing September lows typically in the low 70s but elevated this week by a strong subtropical ridge. Official point forecasts from NWS Houston/Galveston consistently cite upper 70s to low 80s, with model consensus supporting minimal overnight drop. A shift in steering winds or unexpected convective activity could introduce modest additional cooling and narrow the outcome, though current observations and guidance show low likelihood of deviating below 78°F before midnight.
