Current forecast models from regional meteorological agencies indicate a high near 29°C for Shanghai on September 22, driven by partly cloudy skies allowing moderate solar heating and light northeasterly winds that limit cooling from advection. Recent observations show stable surface conditions with dew points around 19–22°C, supporting daytime maxima in the upper 20s without significant moisture influx or frontal activity. Ensemble guidance exhibits a narrow spread between 28–30°C, reflecting typical late-September climatology where average highs hover near 28°C but can edge higher under clear conditions. Traders appear to weigh the slight edge toward 29°C against potential under-forecasting from local urban heat effects or minor model adjustments ahead of the event.
