This market will resolve to “Yes” if Donald Trump is physically aboard any aircraft or spacecraft that reaches or crosses the U.S. space threshold by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. The U.S. space threshold is defined as 50 miles above mean sea level. Whether Donald Trump crosses the internationally recognized Karaman line will not impact this market’s resolution. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting. President Donald Trump’s explicit public statement that he would not undertake spaceflight, combined with his age of 80 and documented age-related health factors, has anchored trader consensus around a near-certain “No” outcome for any 2026 trip. Recent administration actions emphasize policy leadership—such as the August 2026 executive order establishing a U.S. Space Academy, honors for the Artemis II crew, and directives to accelerate commercial launches and lunar returns by 2028—without any indication of personal participation by the president. Spaceflight remains a high-risk activity typically reserved for trained professionals, and no scheduled missions or preparations include a sitting commander-in-chief. While late-breaking developments like an unexpected short suborbital flight arranged through commercial partners could theoretically alter the timeline, such scenarios face steep logistical, medical, and political barriers unlikely to materialize before year-end.
