This market will resolve to “Yes” if any gold coin featuring Donald Trump’s likeness is officially issued by the U.S. Mint by July 4th, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. A coin will be considered “officially issued” if the U.S. Mint makes it available for any form of public purchase, order, or distribution. Announcement of a coin without qualifying issuance will not count. A qualifying coin must be legal tender, but does not need to be minted for general circulation. Commemorative coins minted for a limited production run will qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the U.S. Mint; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The U.S. Commission of Fine Arts approved a 24-karat gold commemorative coin design featuring President Trump in March 2026 for the Semiquincentennial, clearing one procedural step for Mint production. However, a May 2026 U.S. Mint filing confirmed the coins remain in the design stage with no target issuance date of July 4, as full production will require additional months after final approvals. Legal questions around restrictions on living presidents' images on currency and the timeline for striking limited-edition pieces have also contributed to skepticism. Traders view these production and procedural barriers as decisive barriers to meeting the July 4 deadline, producing the current 89% implied probability on "No."
