Incumbent Democrat Sam Liccardo secured roughly 75 percent of the vote in California's June 2 all-party primary for the 16th Congressional District, advancing comfortably with Republican Peter Soule, who edged out fellow Republican Kevin Johnson for the second spot. The solidly Democratic district's results align with historical patterns favoring the incumbent in a low-turnout primary environment. Trader consensus reflects the decisive margin and limited competition, though official certification and any late vote-count adjustments remain pending before final resolution.
