Ismael Burgueño Ruiz’s polling lead in Morena’s internal nomination process for the 2027 Baja California governorship underpins trader positioning, as the party’s coalition dominance makes its standard-bearer the presumptive general-election favorite. Burgueño, on leave as Tijuana mayor since June 2026, holds roughly 30–37% preference in recent surveys, ahead of Senator Julieta Ramírez Padilla and a field that includes senators, former mayors, and federal legislators. With formal selection still pending and more than a year before the vote, the absence of a locked-in nominee, undecided voters, and potential late shifts among registered aspirants keep implied probabilities clustered and sensitive to internal polling or party announcements.
