Recent polls conducted in August 2026 ahead of Berlin’s 20 September state election show the CDU consistently ahead of the Greens by 2–4 percentage points, with the CDU at 18–20 % and the Greens at 16–17 %. This gap persists across surveys from Forsa, INSA, Infratest dimap, and Civey despite the Left party leading the overall race and the AfD running close behind the CDU. The CDU’s replacement of its top candidate with Stefan Evers following Kai Wegner’s withdrawal has not altered the relative positioning versus the Greens, whose support has remained stable in the low-to-mid teens. Traders therefore assign the CDU an elevated probability of securing more votes, reflecting the sustained polling margin and the absence of any late surge by the Greens in the final month of the campaign.
