Katharina Pötter holds a commanding lead in the Osnabrück mayoral runoff market after securing 42.2 percent in the September 13 first round, well ahead of Volker Bajus at 22.3 percent, with the remaining candidates far behind. As incumbent since 2021, Pötter benefits from established visibility, cross-party appeal in campaign messaging, and a proven path through a prior runoff victory. The September 27 ballot pits her directly against Bajus of the Greens in a contest where her first-round margin and institutional position shape trader assessments. A shift in final support could still occur through differential turnout or late developments, though the gap leaves limited scope for reversal under standard runoff dynamics.
