Tsai Yi-yu’s position as the Democratic Progressive Party nominee for Chiayi County magistrate has anchored trader consensus around his high implied probability. He secured the nomination after winning the party’s January 2026 primary by a wide margin and is viewed as the clear frontrunner in a county that has consistently supported the DPP in recent local elections. No major opposition candidates or party realignments have emerged in the past month to shift this dynamic ahead of the November vote. Minor contenders, including those listed at lower percentages, remain secondary in the absence of comparable party backing or polling momentum. The market pricing reflects these structural and nomination factors rather than late-cycle developments.
