Incumbent KMT Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang holds an 88.5% implied probability in the Keelung mayoral race for Taiwan’s November 28, 2026 local elections, reflecting trader consensus on his strong position. Hsieh, in office since 2022 and a former legislator, survived an October 2024 recall vote by a 55-45 margin, bolstering perceptions of resilience. The main DPP challenger, Tong Tzu-wei, trails at 7% amid a July 2026 Mirror Media poll showing only a narrow lead for Hsieh but with over 25% undecided voters. KMT’s broad 2026 candidate slate and local party infrastructure further support Hsieh’s positioning, while numerous low-probability or placeholder candidates register minimal market interest.
