Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovenia on March 22, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially elected by the National Assembly (Državni zbor) and sworn in as Prime Minister of Slovenia following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must be formally sworn in. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister is sworn in by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Slovenia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Janez Janša’s dominant position in the market reflects Slovenia’s post-election coalition dynamics following the March 2026 parliamentary vote that produced a hung National Assembly. With the Freedom Movement securing 29 seats and the Slovenian Democratic Party 28, outgoing Prime Minister Robert Golob’s inability to assemble a majority coalition has shifted the mandate to Janša, who is now actively negotiating with smaller center-right parties. Recent procedural steps, including amendments reducing ministries and draft coalition guidelines, have reinforced trader expectations of his confirmation as prime minister through a simple majority vote. Scenarios that could still alter the outcome include unresolved coalition sticking points among potential partners, a last-minute withdrawal of support, or a parliamentary defeat that triggers renewed talks or fresh elections.
