Recent test flights of Starship V3 vehicles, including Flight 13 in July 2026 with successful Starlink deployment, in-space Raptor engine relight, and intact upper-stage splashdown, have advanced heat shield performance and reentry data. However, the upper stage has not yet achieved a tower catch or rapid reflight, and critical milestones like reliable in-space propellant transfer remain undemonstrated. Elon Musk’s August 2026 projection of a first ship reflight by late 2026 or early 2027 highlights an aggressive timeline that traders view as high-risk given historical delays and the need for integrated orbital operations. Upcoming Flight 14 catch attempts and regulatory approvals represent key near-term catalysts that could shift sentiment before year-end resolution.
