KMT nominee Chang Chia-chun leads the Yunlin County Magistrate race with an 83.5% implied probability, reflecting the party's recent nomination of the legislator and Yunlin's established KMT voting patterns in magistrate contests. DPP lawmaker Liu Chien-kuo trails at 13%, consistent with the opposition's more limited organizational reach in the county ahead of the November 28, 2026, local elections. KMT Chairwoman Cheng Li-wun's March 2026 selection of Chang as part of a slate emphasizing female candidates, followed by a July party rally reinforcing unity across 19 races, has anchored trader pricing on structural advantages including incumbency continuity from current Magistrate Chang Li-shan. No major candidate shifts or late developments have altered this positioning in recent weeks.
